Gareth Bale is not ready to miss the Clasico at any cost

Gareth Bale is not ready to miss the Clasico at any cost.

He has been given a clear warning by his doctors that if he gets indulged into heavy training too early, it may result in him damaging his ankle again which has already been damaged several times in the past and for which he has even had to go under the knife once.

However, in spite of the warnings, Bale is hell bent that there is nothing serious with his ankle as such and it’s just a little bit of niggle which he can carry and which he can play with. Now it’s up to Zinedine Zidane if he listens to the doctors or listens to the player himself.

Zidane, for now, has kept his cards close to his chest. Yesterday when asked about Bale, he refused to give any assurance regarding his participation in Clasico. He just said that the Welshman was getting monitored on a day to basis and at the minute, there’s no certainty whether he would be able to make it to the game.

Zidane is anyway not famous for putting the half-fit players on the park and there’s no point doing that when he already has enough players in the reserve who are good enough to come in and fill the shoes of any first choice player whenever called upon. Somebody like Isco can bring as much skill to the table as Bale can.

And secondly, you have to be extra careful with players who have had a history of injuries and Bale definitely belongs to that category of players. Nobody at Real Madrid has sustained more injuries than him in the last 4 years. So, considering all that, Zidane would be really reluctant to give him a game on Sunday.
