SANCHO MAKES UNITED DEBUT AGAINST LEEDS

England international attacker Jadon Sancho is one of the most expensive players in British football after his transfer to Manchester United.After a protracted transfer saga that lasted for several windows, Manchester United signed Jadon Sancho in a £72.9m deal. The young English winger was signed from German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho was unable to join up with his new teammates immediately due to international commitment with the Three Lions and the extended holiday afterwards. He was a member of the England team that came so close to winning the Euro 2020 tournament. They were a penalty shootout away from winning the tournament.

Jadon Sancho could only make the bench for the first game of the new Premier League season, the home encounter withLeeds United. The Englishman came on as a substitute for the last 15 minutes in place of Welshman Daniel James to give the Manchester United fans a glimpse of what to expect. His first competitive game in a Manchester United ended in a 5-1 victory thanks to the treble from star player Bruno Fernandes.

Portugal international Fernandes didn't have the best of summers as he failed to find form at the Euro 2020 tournament. His Portugal team crashed out as defending champions in the round of 16 via the 1-0 defeat to Belgium thanks to the first half strike from Borussia Dortmund winger Thorgan Hazard.

Fernandes scored the first goal of the Leeds United game off the assist from Pogba and it was enough to give Manchester United an half-time lead. Leeds United briefly restored parity at the start of the second half through Luke Ayling before the hosts regained their lead through Mason Greenwood. Fernandes added two more goals for his treble before the win was sealed by a fifth goal from Brazilian midfielder Fred.
Pogba was almost as influential as Fernandes during the Leeds United game.
