Sven-Goran Eriksson wants improvement

The Philippines soccer team head coach Sven-Goran Eriksson said that he wants to see some improvement in his team. He said that he was happy with their first win against Singapore but not the way they played. He said that the team does not mean anything if they do not progress as a team.
Sven-Goran Eriksson has taken charge of the Philippines soccer team just one month ago and had very little time to spend with his players. He said that the victory is the fruit of his predecessor as he had spent more time with the players.

The former England manager said that he wants his players to play better football and to improve their possession play. He said that the team has made use of a lot of long balls during the game and that he wants to reduce that as much as possible.

Sven-Goran Eriksson said that there are some good players in the Philippines but they first have to get used to his training methods. For him, the way a team play is better than the result and he wants to first see some improvement on the pitch.

“He said that he needs to spend more time with the players to make sure that they understand his requirements and how he wants them to play.“ He said that the players have shown some positive things in the match against Singapore and “he will be looking“ to build on that.

he said that the objective of the team is to reach the semi-final of the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup but for that, they will first need to get out of the group stage.

He believes that the players have the potential to reach these objectives and he wants them to believe in themselves.
